Brief Description: Lycoming FP plug and Manifold Pressure box
I needed to finish the oil path for the front main bearings per the Lycoming manual. I don't know why they can't put a screw in the plug to allow for fixed pitch props, but they don't. Instead they tell you to puncture the plug with a 1/8 to 3/16" hole and then install a plug at the front plug position. This is a scary operation because you cannot touch the oil bearing tube while making the punched hole and you can't drill it because you would get shaving in the engine. I went to the full 3/16" diameter which you can see and then installed the plug with Proseal. If I ever have the money to install a CS Prop, I can remove the plug, install a screw in the hole with some Proseal and we are back to where we started.
I also mounted the manifold pressure box in behind the firewall on the forward deck skin with a couple of Platenuts, this will work fine and I can easily remove it for repair if required.
