The alternate air system is now done and the cable works great. Although Vans has said it is really designed to open only with the cable in emergency, I re-worked it so it would easily close also. The leverage is good, and I used a nylon washer on the pivot screw to allow the door to pivot smoothly and then change the cable routing through Adel clamps so it pushes and pulls smoothly. I hope I don’t have to use it but if I do I know it will work well. I will operate the alternate air as part of the preflight check list to insure it is working properly
