Brief Description: Final mounting of HS stabilizer & rollover frame
Today I started to re-assemble the plane for the final time. I mounted the HS stab and the rollover canopy frame. In the plans it mentions you can taper the base plate of the rollover frame to match the upper sill if desired. I really thought it would look better and decided to do it even though most RV’s I have looked have left it without the trimming. It was pretty easy to cut on the metal cutting band saw and cleaned the cut up with the belt sander. Then I pulled out my trusty bottle of Vans touch up paint and painted the raw edge. This turned out great and you can’t tell the part was trimmed. I still have more painting, but the weather was not cooperative today, so that is still on the list to do soon.
