Brief Description:  Defroster and cooling fans

It is time to get the forward-panel fuselage skin ready for installation and off the "to do" list. The final items needed to be done were to mount the defroster fans or summer instrument cooler fan ;-) in the forward fuselage panel. I used a 3 1/8" instrument knock out punch for the hole after making a template from the fan. I also dimpled the skin for final riveting except the line of rivets along the fire wall which need to be drilled with the cowl mounting hinge. This panel can now be riveted in place, but I won’t do this until the instruments are in. I am planning 2 speeds for the fan and will regulate them by wiring in series with each other for the low speed and direct to 12V for high speed rather then using a resistor. I tried this and it works well, but does require extra wiring and a three position switch with off in the middle.
