Brief Description:  Details and Pro-Seal

I wanted to get a few loose ends cleaned up and decided to mix up a batch of “black death” and finish mounting the fresh air vents and static air ports. It always seems that working with any kind of stick goo just takes an inordinate amount of time and gets on everything. Since Pro-Seal is black, it shows up in places and you have no idea how it got there. So, the vents are in and next time back in the shop I will drive the 3/32” rivets to finish the install. The rivets probably aren’t needed except to fill the holes, but I use the holes to hold all in place with clecos, and line it all up while the Pro-Seal solidifies.

I also made the final hinge pin for the trim tab and decided to use the same locking method as my flap hinge pins. This is just a better way to do it over safety wire. It is easily removable, has a handle to pull the pin and securely locks in place once you screw down the hinge tab into the platenut. The two pop rivets are what hold the platenut. Simple and elegant!
