My tech advisor, Ed Booth built and RV7 and never liked the wing tip flexing during flight. He suggested a lightweight support or two in the tip would be good thing to do. Since he is pretty much a building expert, now working on an RV10, his fifth plane and also an AP I decided to go with his advice. I cut some ribs out of 5/8” foam and epoxied them in place using an epoxy-flox mix. After letting it cue overnight I installed them on the wings to see if it made a difference and it really did. These ribs weigh next to nothing yet in compression are very strong. I thing it’s a good mod to add, but only time will tell.
