Brief Description:  Left Gear Leg Fairings Part 4

To measure if the leg fairings are trailing in line in relation to the fuselage centerline you have to make lot measurements. All are developed from the centerline of the fuselage. I first dropped plumb lines from the fuselage centerline to the floor. Then I basically measured out from the centerline at the gear and tail the same distance. Using string from a vertical bar at the tail forward around the gear fairing at the same point you can see if the trailing edge of the faring is centered between the stings. As it turns out mine was off 3/16” at the bottom, so I have to figure out how to fix it. The real problem is determining what is out of whack. Is there a twist in the fairing, is the gear off, are my measurements off, etc. It appears that the gear fairing is warped at first take, but more research is necessary.
