Brief Description:  Rivet Bottom Edge of Top Skins

My youngest brother came down from Virginia to visit and on his last night here, we finally got into the garage to look at the plane. Now that the wings are in the cradle, it was much easier to squeeze the rivets along the bottom edge of the top wing skins. I showed him how to use the cleco pliers, read the plans for rivet call outs, and use the pneumatic squeezer. We swapped out the standard yoke for the 4" no hole yoke and I still had fun trying to squeeze the rivets in the area of the doubler plates. On my second rivet, I got to demonstrate how to drill out a rivet. Thankfully, it was the only one. I also found where I missed an AN470 rivet in one of the plates so he got to use the rivet gun while I bucked. I think he enjoyed the process, but I'm not sure that I've convinced him to build a plane. In the time that I have been working on this RV, he has built two boats, a tear drop camper, restored an antique truck, started another truck and is about to build a houseboat. He would have had the RV done by now!
