Brief Description:  F-638 Seat Back Braces

I broke out the F-638 Seat Back Braces and marked out the lightening holes. I set up the drill press for its lowest speed and the fly-cutter for a 2.25" hole. I cut the holes without any issues (still have all of my fingers) and smoothed the edges. I saw on the plans where I needed to mark and cut the flanges so I got out the Dremel with a cutoff wheel and marked and made the first cut. I smoothed it out and it looked pretty darn good if I say so myself. I then marked the other flange and cut it. As soon as I finished the cut, I knew I had molested the pooch. They say two out of three ain't bad, but three out of four positively sucks. $9.05 plus shipping and a one week wait for a new F-638 (not to mention, another opportunity to lose digits to the fly-cutter). Just so that my hand hurt as badly as my wallet, I proceeded to radius the knuckle of my thumb with a vixen file. I decided to call it a night. Weather permitting, I will get the center fuselage assembly etched and primed tomorrow.
