Brief Description:  Prime and Begin Riveting Center Fuselage

I ordered a new F-638 from Van's this morning. Much like removing a bandaid, the faster I order replacement parts, the sooner it stops hurting.

I got carried away and took very few pics today. I started out with 3.5 hours of cleaning and etching center fuselage parts, followed by 30 minutes of painting and 15 minutes of cleanup. I then shot and bucked the seat ribs to the F-704B bulkhead assembly and torqued the AN3 bolts. Ginger came out and helped me attach the F-705 bulkhead and get those @#$%! spacers in place. I squeezed all of the rivets that I could and we shot the remainder. These rivets did not come out nearly as good as the forward rivets, but they will do. I debated drilling out the two offenders, but figured that there was a greater chance of making a big mess while chasing perfection. Those two will just have to be "good enough." We flipped the assembly over and I clecoed on the bottom skin. Later while reviewing Checkoway's build log, I realized that I had forgotten to squeeze the rivets attaching the seat ribs to the top of the F-704B. I'm going to have to flip the thing back over. The remainder of the riveting will have to wait as Ginger is unavailable to help for a day or so.
