Brief Description:  Comm Antenna Location

So, After my conventional gear skill acquisition experience, time to get back to work on the RV8 and get it flying !

Proceeded with riveting the nut plates to the doubler plates for each antenna.
Satisfied with the antenna fit to the doubler plates, located the doubler plates on the floor of the RV8, immediately aft of the main wing spar, and as far outboard as reasonable to allow for maximum distance between the two antennas on the belly. This seems to be the common location for two antennas of this type on the RV8.
• Located where to drill the .5" hole for the antenna base, drilled a pilot hole with #40, final drilled with unibit to .5".
• Mated the doubler plate using .5" bit of a much larger unibit, and locate the remaining four holes.
• Drilled #40 pilot holes for the remaining four holes for the antenna mounting screws, then drilled to final size.
• Disassembled and deburred the holes in the fuse belly skin.
