Brief Description:  Landing Gear Assy

Proceeding with test fitting the main gear assembly fo the wheel pant, axle and wheels.

With some help from friends, hosted the fuse up on the sawhorse (rated at 2800 lbs - not sure I actually believe that).

1. Main gear legs are about 12" off the hanger floor.
2. Assembled the right and left main wheels, installing the 500x5 tires and tubes, tire talc, inflate, deflate, repeat, etc...
3. Deburred the wheel pant brackets, installed on the LEFT main gear leg with the AN4-24 bolts (4x), cleveland brake bracket, and axle.
4. Attempted to install the wheel, but. it will not slide past the threads... wierd.
5. Deburred the wheel pant brackets, installed on the RIGHT main gear leg with the AN4-24 bolts (4x), cleveland brake bracket, and axle.
6. Installed the wheel onto the axle, no problem. SO... swapped wheels, left wheel on right axle - no problem, then the right wheel on the left axle... no go.

Vans suggested a bit of sandpaper and greese.. Upon a little sanding - the anodized finish removed, ther are markings on the axle suggesting it's not cut properly. There's no amount of greese that's gonna make this work. Ordered a replacement axle from Vans ($60).

That's why we test these things !!
