Brief Description:  Acquire RV-8 QB from Clifford Hill

Fast forward to February 2011. About a year prior I got serious about my instrument rating, and an instructor who I very much respected moved back to Columbus, GA (a Lear 65 captain without a fly job), so in November of 2010, got the instrument rating.

It certainly is a rewarding and educational process... and in the process, learned of a gentleman in Little Texas, AL who wanted to sell his RV-8 QB kit. Clifford Hill. Now, Clifford is not a spring chicken, pushing his early eighties. He had purchases the 8 QB in 2006, about two years before I went to the RV builders class in Griffan, GA.

Purchased RV8 QB 82373 from Clifford Hill, Little Texas, AL (near Tuskeegee, AL) Rounded up all of the parts, fuse, wings, emp and finish kit. Lynn Hall and Ken Garbacik helped locate and load all of the parts into the rental UHaul. Quite exciting day ! Tried to take pictures of everything we loaded on to the truck. Took the haul home and unloaded into the garage. Had to remove the emp to get the fuse in the truck. No problem though, as I plan to use as much of the emp from my RV7 project as possible.

As far as I can tell, managed to get everything home in one peice, except for my tool box which I left accidently at Cliffords. Oh well, the following weekend flew the Cherokee over to Clifford's airstrip (2000 feet grass, about 1500 usable) to pick up the forgotten tools.
