Brief Description: Brakes - Line from Fuse to Caliper
Made and install the left and right brake lines from the fuse to the bake caliper.
• Used garden wire, twisted to provide a nice sturdy wire to mock the bends required, for the brake line run from the fuse to the right gear leg. • Used the mock up to bend the 1/4" brake soft aluminum line. • Test fitted the aluminum line, making some minor hand bends so the line will traverse the right gear leg. • Installed the AN fittings required for both ends of the brake line. • Flared both ends of the aluminum brake line with my Imperial tube flare tool - simple and works every time, just shoot with some WD40 prior to each flare, checked for a clean flare. • Test fitted the brake line, hand tightening the AN fittings on both ends. • Acquired from HD clear tubing where the ID is the same as the OD of the 1/4" inch brake line, cut into sections and installed on the brake line at about 6 inch spaces to prevent the aluminum line from rubbing the gear leg. • Tightened AN fittings 1/4 turn past hand tight.
Repeated for left gear leg brake line run from the fuse to the brake cylinder.
