Brief Description: Elevator Trim Tab Hinge Preparation
The pilot holes were drilled in the forward and aft sections of the elevator trim tab hinge in a previous step.
I clecoed the forward half of the trim tab hinge to the underside of the left rear spar using the pilot hole. I clamped the hinge about every five inches along the length of the hinge to the other end to hold the hinge in place while I matched drilled #40 the remaining holes. Prior to drilling each hole, I clamped the hinge on the left and right sides of the hole. After drilling the hole, I clecoed it in place. I moved down the hinge repeating this process one hole at a time.
The entire process was repeated for the aft half of the hinge that was clecoed to the trim tab spar using the pilot hole.
I removed the forward and aft hinge sections and cut them to length using my band saw and belt sander, then deburred the cut edges. I deburred all the holes in the hinge sections top and bottom.
