Brief Description:  Horizontal Stabilizer Skins Preparation

I deburred the edges of the horizontal stabilizer skins usng my die grinder with a scotch brite wheel attached. Then I established which skin would be the left skin and which would be the right skin. The skins are identical when they comes from Van's, but after dimpling the holes, the left and right sides will mirror each other. There are holes along the inboard and outboard edges that do not get dimpled. I marked these holes with tape.

Once all the holes were dimpled, I cleaned the inside of the skins with a degreaser, then scuffed the inside with a medium scotch brite pad and some etching solution. Then I rinsed the skins off really good with a garden hose and sprayer. I set them aside upright to dry overnight.

The next step is to prime the inside of each skin.
