Brief Description: Horizontal Stabilizer Rear Spar Assembly Part 2
I bolted the Inboard Hinge Bracket Assembly to the horizontal stabilizer rear spar using the bolts, washers, and self-locking nuts called out in the plans. The inboard hinge bracket assembly is positioned in the middle of the rear spar. I used my torque wrench, calibrated in inch-pounds, to tighten the nuts.
The standard torque for this nut/bolt combination is 28 inch-pounds. However, due to the friction drag torque of the self-locking nuts, an additional torque value needs to be added to the standard torque value. I used a friction drag torque of 14 inch-pounds, and added it to the standard torque, to get 42 inch-pounds.
