Brief Description:  Coax and wiring

Received my order from Stein this week with more RG400 and BNC and TNC connectors. Installed a 90 degee BNC connector on RG400 and connected it to the ADS-B antenna. Forgot I had already terminated it at the module so had to cut the connector off to shorten the cable run. Worked out fine though because I then routed the coax a little differently and installed a grommet to hold the cable through the subpanel. Decided to use the other 90 degree connector I bought on this end too and it made for a nicer installation (See picture 1). Turned my attention to the transponder coax. Decided to relocate the transponder mounting plate since the coax comes in from the co-pilot side, which made the routing of the coax difficult since the original location had the connector foacing the opposite direction. Unscrewed the mounting plate and drilled holes in the new location. Installed the mounting plate with new threadlock nuts. Snapped the transponder into the tray and then installed the TNC connector to the coax after cutting to the length I wanted, left enough for a generous service loop. Screwed on the connector to the transponder, see picture 2. Pulled RG400 for the Marker Beacon antenna but didn't finish installing. Decided I didn't like how I was routing the wires at the front of the cockpit along the firewall using the adel clamps. So I decided to drill 1" holes for large grommets in the forward ribs and re-routed all the wiring through there. I had to remove and reinstall some wires which I had already screwed in place or put on the ground block. I like the results better as you can see in picture 3. Discovered that the Skyview network harness I had installed to the network hub and ran through the conduit to the front of the cockpit did not include the wiring for the power and grounds to the ADAHRS units. Had to run a new 5 wire bundle through the conduit and re-do the DB9 connector to the network hub. Got it all cut, crimped, and assembled and reinstalled the DB9 connector to the hub. Tidy'd up the wiring
