Once I was happy with the hole locations I layed out the aft brackets and marked the holes using my height gauge and micrometers. The hole were then drilled on the mini mill. A 1/4" bit makes a nice tight hole for the AN4 attach bolts. I used a UNI-Bit to make the 3/4" lightening holes.
I started laying out the RH forward bracket next. To start I marked out its location on the fuselage side and scribed the edge of the lower longeron and the LWX wood on the backside of the bracket blank. I trimmed these using my Miter saw with the metal blade. Once I had the fit flush to the edge of the wood I marked the holes off the bracket edges half the width of the wood from the bracket edge. This will result in the bolts being right in the middle of the wood peices. Once all the holes were marked I drilled them on the mill.
