Brief Description: LH Fuselage Side Inside Skin Trim
Today a peeled back the edges of the peel ply around the perimeter of the fuselage side to facilitate trimming. I started with the Fein tool to trim to 1/8 to 1/4 inches overhang from the foam core. I then took my little trim router with a flush trim bit and ran around the perimeter trimming the laminate even with the foam edges. My experience with the router is to get the peel ply away from the bit as it tends to wind up around the bit and that is not good! This worked well although the bearing on the trim bit did compress into the foam SLIGHTLY. I added a second bearing under the first after I was done. We will see if that prevents the bearing from imprinting into the foam on the next trim task.
