I constructed my bending brake 5 feet long with the top 6 feet to overhang 6 inches. That should allow me to use it on the ailerons and flaps. Most of the posts on Van's Airforce recoment to space the boards 1/8" at the hinge line. I used two 1/8" punches to space the hinges while I screwed them into the boards.
At first I was getting a bowed rudder when I layed the straight edge on the skin. I bent the trailing edge some more and it came out right.
