Brief Description:  Aileron Servo Harness Adjustment...

The aileron servo's Molex connection is mounted in such a fashion that if the pushrod is fully deflected, the servo's throw arm will contact the connector. To ensure this is not an issue & that the deflection of the aileron meets Van's limitations; I needed to re-mount & re-jig the control surface.

As per the plans, the deflection of the aileron "passed" its limitation requirements without impacting the Molex. However, for me - it's too close for comfort. So, the fix was to disconnect the Molex, cut a wire access slot in the mount bracket (to eliminate the hassle of removing pins) & reposition the connector. Now the connection is tie-wrapped & now secured. I'm a happier camper.

Apparently, I am not alone here. When talking to Larry @ Vans, he mentioned that many builders elect to modify this connection point; which brings up another interesting point for a later time.

On a different note - a few days ago, I chatted with Karl A. regarding his solo riveting of the wing's bottom skins. His input along with a few useful photos prompted me to purchase the material to fabricate one wing rotisserie. A weekend project in the making.
