Brief Description:  Antenna Coaxial Cable Runs & Connections...

From 10/14 - 10/16: I began routing the cables to the avionic units that incorporates an antenna connection. Each run requires either a BNC or TNC to be prepared, attached & then tested to the coaxial. I found that I will need to use 90-degree TNC connectors on a couple of runs, but that will mean ordering them online through Shireen Inc. So, until that order is received, I'll move forward on the installation of the the remaining straight or 90-degree BNC & the straight TNC connections that I have in stock.

Completed Installations:
1. Transponder Antenna to GTX-45R Remote Transponder - BNC Connector (2ea. Straight)
2. ELT Antenna to ACK ELT Unit - BNC Connector (2ea. Straight)
3. Comm 1 Antenna (belly mounted, pilot's side) to 750Xi Navigator - BNC Connector (2ea. Straight)
4. Comm 2 Antenna (belly mounted, copilot's side) Connects to GTR20 Remote Comm - BNC Connector (2ea. Straight)

Learned Tip: when preparing a connector for attachment to coaxial cable, the assembly should be tested for internal shorts prior to crimping & installation. Should one end of the cable already be connected to an electronic box, the test will fail. The cable must be unattached from any electronics for a valid continuity test.
