Brief Description:  Flat Tire...

After spending a few days away from the project, Jameson & I returned to the hangar to find N418BV had a deflated tire. This tire had a slow leak since its installation so now it is time to take care of the matter.

A while back I modified the wheel pant mounting bracket to accommodate Flyboy Accessories Jack Post; a simple machined aluminum pin that inserts into the wheel hub. For me, it's a lot safer than using wing jacks.

I found in short order that my scissor jack would not fit under the jack post when the tire was flat. Better to find that the scissor jack required a fix while the aircraft was in the hangar versus on a cross-country. After a slight modification to the jack, the tire is now repaired & I did purchase a new scissor jack - one that has a wider footing for a soft surface.
