Brief Description:  Seat Back Support Rail & More...

Custom Aero Design does not fabricate a back rail for their seats. It is my understanding that most customers just allow the seat to rest against the cross-member support in lieu of using the back rail. I elected to use the rail. I am concerned that the leather will chafe over time by resting on the cross-member support & also by being squeezed between the two back rail support blocks.

Since the other side of the seat back's attachment hinge does not have the two outer tabs to marry with, these needed to be removed from each seat back.

I always felt Vans has the assembler fabricate this rail up-side down. As such, it's not overly pleasing to the eye. After the aircraft has been flying for a bit, I may re-do these "my way" & have them anodized in black. Something fun to venture into...

Tested the GTP-59 OAT Probe today by placing it into a cup of ice water - it worked. Also attached the pitot static & AOA lines to their respective fuselage leads. Added a cushioning cone to each of the wing tie-down rings. This & a dab of Loctite should aid in preventing them from vibrating loose.
