Received the control sticks back from Tosten Manufacturing where they added the 10th gray wire that Vans Aircraft omits for whatever reason. I assume it’s a liability concern. Unfortunately, the grips are backwards on each control shaft.
I did not notice the error until the control sticks were installed, but the wire exiting hole at the base of each shaft is reversed, or the grip is reversed. I cannot determine if it was Vans error or Tostens; all I know is that I'm the guy that has been assigned to fix it.
So tomorrow it's redo day. Dsub back shells, pins & grips will be removed. Then the shafts will be swapped, wiring re-stuffed & the Dsubs hardware reconnected. Albeit I may go with the smaller 9-pin Dsub this time around & re-route the ground wire to save a bit of room. We'll see.
