Brief Description: Fresh Air Vents Modification...
While reviewing Steve Hicks Custom Aero Design interior installation, I noticed a comment he made about the upper fresh air vent's outboard mounting screw. It appears that this screw’s backside nut is impossible to reach after the interior is installed. I’m happy I caught this when I did. Down the road this could have been another one of those too many time-consuming fixes to deal with.
After considering my options as to how best to get around this issue, I decided to fabricate two corner plates & attach a MS21071L-06 nut plate to it. The plate will then be epoxied to the plastic fresh air vent. This is only needed for one of the three screws per vent.
It is amazing how much time slips by for these small projects. But, what else is going to make your day..?
