Number of Hours:  17.00
Manual Reference:  Sect. 41
Brief Description:  Flaps, Ailerons, R&D, etc...

12/28 - 3.3 hrs., Finally wrapped-up working on the alignment of the control sticks. Thought this would be a simply task, but nope.

Since the control stick's bell crank assemblies were already installed in the quick build's fuselage, I gave little thought to not having a template to match drill the control sticks two mounting holes. On hindsight, the next time I will remove the bell cranks & use them as a guide to drill the holes; as outlined in the "non-quick build" plans.

12/21 - 4.0 hrs., After a few days of work & research, I believe I have finally adjusted the aileron pushrods to where they need to be. By initially attempting to set both ailerons in unison to their proper deflection angles, I felt that I was working in circles, getting nowhere. I then decided enough was enough & worked on each aileron's adjustment separately. The balancing act came at the control sticks. It was here that the pivoting assembly required a great deal of patience to get not only the aileron deflection correct but the stick positioning set just right. Tomorrow I will recheck everything, tighten the hardware & call it a day.

12/17 - 1.0 hr., Reamed the bell crank mounting holes for the aileron pushrods. Temporarily installed the AN3-11A bolts, washers & nuts.

12/16 - 1.8 hrs., Completed the flap installation. Everything is now secured so I moved onto the installation of the aileron pushrods. The bell crank's powder coating has closed the mounting holes diameter a tad & they need to be reamed for the bolts to clear. Wish I had noticed this ealier as it would have been easier to gain access to do that. Never-the-less, we move on.

12/15 - Thanks to Jim & Fred W. for stopping in yesterday to look over the aircraft. They had not seen the project since I mounted the wings. Fred's experienced eye noticed a fuel line feeding the "Red Cube" that could use additional support; so I added another Adel clamp while it was fresh on my mind. Always good to get feedback.

12/14 - 1.5 hrs., I began removing some metal from the
