Brief Description:  A Rewarding Day...

Since yesterday's posting, I've been contemplating my comment as to how it may be feasible for one person (me) to attach the right wing to the fuselage. The primary reason for this thinking is from my use of an adjustable height 30x62" Husky worktable that I sat the wing on yesterday. The size of the table is adequate to offer positive stability of the wing & also offered a little wiggle room to slide the it inward or outward 8-12 inches.

This morning, Jameson & I headed to the hangar a bit earlier than normal. I re-evaluated my strategy & not rushing the process, I proceeded to give my theory a try. As I moved along I double checked every detail & it didn't take long to discover that I may be onto something. Adjusting the table height & slowly sliding the wing's spar into & between the fuselage's well lubricated spars; I could see this just might work.

The immediate positive was that I, one person, had complete control of the connection process. No conflicting handlers moving the wing this way or that way in an attempt to get it into position. The big plus; no accidental marring of the spars through improper positioning or movements. Once the table height was set & the wing's angle adjusted for its dihedral, the drift pins were easily installed & it appeared as though the process would come together better than anticipated.

In the end - it did. The right wing is installed, the eight bolts to the main spar are inserted, the aft spar bolt is in place & everything is set to be tightened & torqued to the proper specifications.

Thanks to Mark A., Fred W., Pete G. & Drew S. for their supportive input. It is much appreciated.
