Brief Description:  GAP-26 Pitot Installation...

That triple check of the wings I spoke about in the previous post paid off as I completely overlooked the GAP-26’s remote box installation. I guess it had been sitting on the shelf too long.

There was some trouble in paradise with this project. As I looked through the plans, something did not appear to be right. A few connections to the pitot system seem to be missing. With a bit more research & a couple of phone calls to SteinAir, we figured out the problem. Turns out that “I need to route” a power, a ground & a discrete wire to the wing's root for the GAP-26. For this unit, SteinAir stops at the fuselage with their wiring task. Why..?

This is not the first time I have encountered issues with clarity from this vendor. To give credit where it's due, there were a few clues to this mystery in the schematic. However, it would have taken little effort for the technical team at SteinAir to point this out with a bit more detail.

As you've heard me say before, every day is a learning day.
