Found out that the 7/8" hole I stepped drilled in the wheel pant mounting bracket needed to be enlarged to 1.0" . Also determined that the 0.032 safety wire securing the mounting bracket to the wheel hub needed to be downsized to 0.020 to allow for a bit of flex in order to insert the jack point pin. The jack point pin is so beautifully machined to tolerance that there is no room for deviation. The enlargement of the hole from 7/8" to 1.0" solved one issue & the down-sizing of the safety wire solved the other.
