Brief Description:  Stress Relief & M/C - See Notes to Right

1.) Stress Relief C-01407 L&R

2.) Machine Countersink C-01407 L&R

3.) Deburr & Polish C-01419 L&R

NOTE: Puzzled as to why this is necessary…

Sect. 38, pg. 12, Step 6 directs the assembler to use the roll bar to gently form C-01407-L (Aft Canopy Rail) to closely match the curvature of the fuselage “aft” of the point indicated.

C-01407L is riveted to the C-01409L & C-01427L assembly. That assembly sets the curvature of the fuselage, and as far as I can see, it is a preset and unable to be changed. Once C-01407L is riveted to the C-01409L & C-01427L assembly; isn’t the curvature of C-01407L now set as it should be?

My only thought as to why this exercise in the manipulation of C-01407L is required may be for a bit of stress relief during finally assembly of the three assemblies.
