Brief Description: Prime Cowling and Engine Preservative Oil
I continued with the primer on the cowling. I am using steel wool to lightly scour the primer between coats. A couple more days should finish it up.
I also added a little more preservative oil to the engine. When the engine was delivered, Aero Sport had filled it with preservative oil and sprayed and coated the interior of the engine and cylinders with the oil. All of this serves to prevent rust and corrosion during the building and installation process. I decided to replenish some of this by spraying the oil into each cylinder and into the oil dipstick tube using a garden sprayer, then rotating the prop to distribute the oil along the cylinder walls.
