With the cowling off the plane, I began trimming the area around the forward intakes where the upper and lower halves come together. The plans recommend doing this before the cowl in placed on the fuselage, since it is more accessable then. I drilled the cowlings at the forward attach point inside the intake. I then continued to sand and trip the upper cowl along the rear edge. I want the cowl to be straight and a constant 1/16th" gap along the rear hinge.
