With the hinge in place, I placed the upper cowl into place with the proper spacing at the spinner bulkhead. With the cowl positioned, I marked the aft edge of the cowl for cutting, and made the cut. The spacing at the hinge looks good, with about 1/16th" spacing to allow for paint thichness. The cowl seemed to lay nice and level with the fuselage skin in most places, but seemed low in other areas. I believe that when the hinge and spacer are riveted in place, the spacer should be just about right. If not, then the spacer may have to be removed at some areas along the hinge.
