The engine has been run in by Aerosport and the magneto was previously timed, but I wanted to confirm this as well as confirm that the Lightspeed electronic ignition was also timed and working properly.
First I got the #1 cylinder to TDC and connected the Mag Syncronizer box. This unit buzzes and lights up when the magneto is firing. My engine should be set to fire at 25' before TDC, and I confirmed that the magneto is indeed set properly.
Since I had installed the Lightspeed Ignition onto the engine, it has never been tested. The testing consists of removing the spark plug wires and confirming that the ignition fires when the engine is rotated through it's cycle. The electrodes sparked properly as I rotated the prop through several rotations.
