Brief Description:  Pitot Tube Connections

After the wings were attached I needed to complete the pitot tube run from the wing to the instrument panel. With a heated pitot probe in the wing, the initial tube run must be aluminum as opposed to plastic to prevent heat damage. I decided to continue the aluminum to the wing root and into the fuselage where I would transition to the plastic tube for the run to the panel. At first I had trouble finding a fitting for this transition from metal to plastic when I saw one builder's post that said you could flare plastic tube and just use an AN compression fitting. I tested this and it worked great so I made a bracket to hold the AN fitting and riveted inside the fuselage where the pitot tube enters from the wing (under the left pilot seat floor). I then attached the aluminum tube to one side and the plastic tube to the other side and tightened everything after using teflon sealant on the threads.
