Brief Description:  Alternate air intake

I painted the fiberglass air induction duct black. I had previously cut the duct and attached the alternate air intake door onto the duct. The design of the door is intended to be rotated clockwise to open, allowing air into the intake duct, however on my engine, the engine intakes and other engine parts interfere with this option. I adjusted the door mechanism to allow it to be rotated counterclockwise. This worked well, but required me to route the cable around the door and attach it to the forward side, which also required me to make another mounting plate.

I also manufactured, primed, painted and riveted a mounting bracket under the instrument panel for the alternate air cable control. I then routed the cable through the same eyeball fitting in the firewall that I used for the purge valve cable. I then secured the cable as it ran along the left side of the engine and to the alternate air door.
