I finished and smoothed the glass mixture around the alternate air intake, and mounted the alternate air cover. The original plans have this door swing aft to open, however my IO360 engine fuel intake is in the way and prevents this. I reversed the door so that it will rotate forward to open. this required me to manfacture a bracket to allow for the cable to route this way. This forward rotation will also have the control cable come close to the lower cowl, but should work out.
I also riveted the attach angle to the air intake. I made thin aluminum support strips for the rivets to seat on the fiberglass surface. I epoxied the support strips and the angles before riveting.
