The flaps had been removed before mating the wings to the fuselage, and today I remounted them for the final time. The original plans called for one long hinge pin to connect the flaps to the wings, but there were two problems with that. I found the long hinge pin to be very difficult to install and remove. Secondly the long hinge pin had to pass through the aileron attachment bracket which I thought was silly. I decided to use two shorter hinge pins that install from the center of each flap, and then secure them in position with safety wire.
I then secured and adjusted the flap control rod. This rod is adjusted so that wien the electric flap motor is in the up position, the flaps are snug against the fuselage and lower wing. After adjustment is done, jam nuts are tightened and torque sealer applied.
