The gear leg fairing is attached to the gear with a clamp which grabs a finger of the fiberglass. This area is known for developing cracks so many builders add reinforcment to this area. I made a template and made aluminum backing strips, shaped and curved them (to match the curve of the gear legs) then bonded them to the fairing fingers.
