I started working on the wheel fairings. The Van's kit includes aluminum attach brackets that I had earlier primed and bolted to the gear leg. I've been seeing comments on builders sites about cracks developing in these brackets and decided to replace them with ones made from stainless steel. I installed them and then began sanding and adjusting the fir of the two halves of the fiberglass fairings. The out-of-the box fit was OK but several iterations of sanding and trimming were required to get a good fit.
