Worked (and reworked!) on cowl hinges. When riveted side hinges to cowls and tested, the right side cowl hinge pins went in easily, but could not get the pilot's side hinge pin to go all the way in. After trying everything we could think of, we ended up drilling out the top hinge and replacing it. To make sure we had no fit issues we continued to sand and final fit the top and bottom cowl halves before final riveting the top cowl hinge. This time we were able to get the hinge pin to fully insert but not as easily as desired. We plan to continue working on this hinge pin to get an easier fit. We then final riveted the side hinges and again tested the fit. OK! We then installed the carburetor temperature sensor (received this week) and wired it up as well as completing the EGT/CHT connections. All engine compartment wiring now completed and dressed.
