With the cowling mostly fitted, it was time to start on the exhaust system. The basic parts were fit together and attached to the engine. Then the fun began. First the cabin heat muff was attached to the exhaust system on the right side and the intake hose was fitted. When we put the bottom cowl in place we noticed we didn't have sufficient clearance around the heat muff and the exhaust pipes. After twisting the exhaust pipes we found the proper position for the most clearance on the cowling and the desired angle exhausting from the rear. It also meant changing the position of the cabin heat muff so the small portion was on the bottom near the cowling. With that in place we then went to work on the exhaust hanger system. This required shortening some of the attach pieces so we could get the desired fit. When completed the hanger system holds the exhaust in position and is free from touching any frame parts.
