Finished sealing the left fuel tank today. After prepping the baffle and ensuring I had all the tools and parts ready, I went at it. Again, another mess, and again I probably used more sealer than needed. The rivets attaching the skin to the baffle did not sit as flush as I wished. Should have made the countersinks deeper since the sealer is in there. I will make them a little deeper on the right tank. Photo #1 shows tank from the inboard looking outboard - you can see all the sealer I put between the skin and the baffle as an extra precaution to leaks. Photo #2 shows the outboard rib and the extra sealant in the upper left and right corners again to preclude leaks. Finally, photo #3 shows the inboard rib and the inspection plate sealed into place. I used the gasket and the sealer as well. I will let the tank cure and leak check it in a week when I get back home from work. Hopefully it is sealed tight - I think it is.
