Brief Description: Rudder Skin and Stiffeners ready for riveting
Photo 1 below shows the stiffeners drying after a coat of primer on the first side. I use nails to hold the small pieces in place so the air pressure from the paint gun doesn't blow them all over (lesson learned the hard way). As noted before, while the stiffeners dried, I dimpled the rudder skin (photo 2). Primed and ready to go stiffeners for the left side of the skin shown in photo 3 below. I kept the left group together while priming and the right group together as you can see in photo 1 (the right side shown with the left starting just to the left of the photo.
