Brief Description:  Prepare Rudder Stiffeners for Primer

My method of preparing the aluminum parts for primer. First I scrub each piece with alumiprep - an aluminum cleaner - mixed per directions. I spray it on and scrub it good then rinse with water into tub 1 and move to the next tub which has the alodine solution to chemically prepare the metal for primer. If the piece is small enough (as in the photo below) I just soak it for 2-3 minutes while I am scrubbing the next piece - if it is too big to fit, then I brush the alodine on with a paint brush and let it soak. After a few minutes in the alodine bath, I then rinse the solution off into the third tub and hang the piece up to dry.
