After going to Home Depot to get the 2X8X8's and the hinges, I constructed the bending brake shown in photo 1 per the plans to bend the trailing edge into a nice tight radius. In Chapter 5 of the plans which talks about how to bend the trailing edge it says the required radius is referenced on the plan drawings - well I looked and didn't see it so I just did it til it looked correct - see photo 2.
