Only aft stiffener section was bonded at this point. EA9360 and flox mix was used to bond stiffener to windshield, and Jeffco resin and flox was used for fiberglass to fiberglass bonding (see picture 1). Series of clamps and clecos were used to hold parts in contact and alignment during cure. Plywood templates, big washers, long screws with wing nuts were used in some areas to ensure full contact between bonding surfaces (see picture 3).
In fwd section of the canopy, four (4) ribs had to me made up from 2-core-2 composite sandwich panel, and then bonded as shown in picture 2. Jeffco resin and flox mixture was used to bond ribs in place. Once, adhesive was set enough, 2 BID lay ups were done over the same area to add more strength. Later, these lay ups as well as ribs will be profiled as required to allow fwd stiffener section to make full contact with matting surfaces without any interference.
