ProBuilder Legacy
Welcome to my Lancair Legacy builder’s website. It all began with a dream as a child… Now it is reality, as I was fortunate to find an untouched Legacy FG kit, s/n LS-216, from a fellow named Tim Ranville. Tim had actually won the kit at Oshkosh. Well, the rest is history… I have been involved with the aviation industry since 1980, where I began working as an apprentice at a flight school. My interests in aviation have taken me on quite a journey, resulting in starting a business in the field of composites, thus the tie-in with the Lancair aircraft. I am planning on demonstrating our strengths, not only mine, but as well a newly formed division of Advanced Composite Structures referred to as “ProBuilder”. I will be attending the Lancair Builder Assist program along with a few of our top Technicians. We are scheduled to be at Lancair September 24 and will be there a few weeks. Our plan is to bring back a nearly complete aircraft by mid October. I was also fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, when I met up with Neal Longwill from Lancair. Neal was in the process of selling his Superior TNIO-360. We were able to strike up a deal that included everything from the firewall forward, including the prop spinner. WOW! Won’t this make life a lot easier… In Canada, the Transport Canada airworthiness regulations (CAR’s) allow me to act as the “project manager” throughout the entire construction process, right up to the test flight requirements. This will allow me to manage the progress of the project and get involved to any degree I wish. I am planning on completing the assembly process, engine installation, avionics, (glass cockpit), interior and refinishing process by this December. Time is ticking away… Oh ya, did I forget to mention that we have a fully complimented state of the art Composite shop equipped with; clean room, curing ovens including a 30 foot long oven, along with a 36 foot long fully contained paint booth with all the bells & whistles… This project is going to come together quite quickly with the same high level of quality that ACS has provided to it’s worldwide customer over the past 20 years.
